GUIDED TOUR OF THE BATTLE OF SAINTE-MÈRE-EGLISE
RELIVE THE EVENTS THAT LED TO THE LIBERATION OF SAINTE-MÈRE-ÉGLISE!
Accompanied by a guide, visitors will learn all about the occupation of Sainte-Mère-Eglise, followed by the battle for the village, which took place on June 6 and 7 at the end of the day. Why was this small village designated as a key objective in the first phase of the Battle of Normandy?
How did the American airborne forces recapture the village from the enemy, and how did they defend it before it was finally secured from German forces? Not to mention the famous misadventure of soldier John Steele, the paratrooper who found himself hanging from the church steeple!
