VISIT OF THE RESERVES OF THE MUSEUM
THE AIRBORNE MUSEUM RESERVES OPEN THEIR DOORS
Who has never been intrigued by what might be lying dormant in a museum's storerooms? The imagination is often piqued when walking through the corridors and rooms of these establishments, both by what we see and what we don't see. Perhaps the storage rooms contain amazing objects that, for some unknown reason, are simply too unfortunate to find a place in the museum's exhibition? What stories might they tell, they who usually have no opportunity to share them with visitors?
This 30/45-minute approach gives each visitor the opportunity to ask questions and, above all, get answers. The discussions prove once again that small stories are part of the bigger picture and have often changed the course of events (the total weight of the equipment, the reduced distance of the parachute jump, etc.) are among the fascinating explanations provided. In the reserve, the clothes, shoes, helmets, and bags, meticulously stored and labeled, evoke a special emotion, thanks to the proximity to the guide and the objects.
Visits to the museum's storage areas take place only during school holidays (in each zone), once a week, on Thursdays at 3 p.m.
